Whostravaganza!

Whostravaganza was the brain child of the Young Adult Librarian and the Experimental Learning Librarian (pictured right in the scarf), both being fans of Doctor Who and both seeing the hype leading up to the 50th anniversary of the show.

They included me knowing I was also a fan and a newly hired part-timer who could see how programming on a bigger scale outside of story times was run.

Whostravaganza was a series of programs on the 4 Saturdays in November of 2013 with the final one airing the simulcast of the 50th anniversary episode.

The 3 saturdays leading up aired classic episodes involved activities including screen printing of t-shirts, testing out fish fingers & custard, trivia contests and a fez creation craft.

The finale involved a costume and craft contest. I was able to aid in planning, behind the scenes of what goes into a bigger program, set-up/tear down as well as crowd /time control of the events them self.

Each of the 4 programs were well attended, the finale especially so even with a lake effect snow storm starting in the middle of the program. I was glad I got this experience so early on in my career and got  to throw on my scarf and see that I can tie my interests and my job together.
